This course will focus on a variety of corneal diseases in dogs and cats. We will begin with establishing the clinically relevant anatomy and physiology of the cornea and discuss its relevance in the context of the development of corneal disease. Canine corneal disease topics will include ulcerative and non-ulcerative conditions and keratoconjunctivitis sicca. Feline corneal disease topics will include feline herpesvirus-1 keratitis and other corneal diseases that are relatively unique to cats. The goal of this course is to provide the general practitioner with detailed but practical information on the diagnosis and management of both common and more infrequently encountered corneal diseases of dogs and cats.

PROGRAMA
Week 1: Corneal anatomy and physiology. Clinical applications.
Week 2: Corneal ulcers in dogs.
Week 3: Case studies.
Week 4: Non-ulcerative diseases of the canine cornea.
Week 5: Keratoconjunctivitis sicca.
Week 6: Case studies.
Week 7: Corneal ulcers in cats.
Week 8: Case studies.

THE LEARNING METHOD:
1. Constant presence of the teacher during the entire duration of the course, available to answer any questions raised by the students.
